I love love love this! For me, what has allowed me to use my fear to empower me and propel me to grow in the direction that I want to is view my fear only as the flip side of desire. If I am scared of people liking my writing, it's only because I desire for people to like my writing. If I am scared of asking out a guy I like, its only because I like that guy! Ultimately, fear leads me to growth! Also, I love when you said, "Even if I am uncertain of the future, I am certain of my capability to handle whatever comes my way." I completely agree, and not only that but I feel the way we master anxiety is by letting go of everything that we cannot control and only focus on what we are capable of. Great essay!

Hey Christina 👋! I appreciate you reading and so glad it resonates :)

I’ve never thought about the contrast between fear and desire— that’s provocative and I’m thinking about that more now. Love the note on anxiety too 😊 it’s not about living without fear but being aware of it and letting it see where we can grow into. Let’s keep going!

Yes! Let's keep going! Yeah I'd love to write more about the connection and clash between fear & desire.

"Even if I am uncertain of the future, I am certain of my capability to handle whatever comes my way." That seems like the very root of confidence.
