Thank you for noticing Alivia! I went for a chipper swim in Lake Michigan and then it struck me after that it would be helpful for a reader to read them again, since it was for me as well :-)
The biggest part of problems we incur is admitting we have a problem and the second half is conquering that problem. Congratulations to you on both accounts. You have found the upmost respect for yourself and your body and soul. May God continue to give you the strength and endurance to continue the good life you have chosen.
Thank you for reading Aunt Vickie! New problems will always arise in life as that is what keeps it always exciting. I believe the first part of admitting to a problem is to clearly understand how to articulate the problem so that a solution can be found. What many see as a problem would not be for someone else since we all have different values. It definitely take strength to conquer the problem. I don't know where my future will take me, but I've learned to trust how I'm feeling and what makes me feel best. :)
I truly enjoyed your write-up. Growing up in a Christian minister’s house like I did, alcohol was not allowed. Not strongly discouraged, not allowed 🚫. I’m an adult now, 54 to be exact, and I choose not to drink. Not because I’m “against” it, I just decided it was something I didn’t want to do. Thankfully I’ve made many friends over the years who respect my decision. I sometimes still get ribbed for it, but I remind them I’ll at least remember what I did tonight. I commend you for your decision to no longer drink and it’s good to hear you’re still making friends. Just think of the money you’re saving as well. Again, great write-up. Take care ☺️
Wow Daniel, I cannot imagine. I totally get how when we are raised where drinking isn't allowed creates this narrative that when it is allowed, we need to make the most of it. Thank you for sharing your story. Not just the money I am saving but I also like to think about how this will help my longevity in my health by having healthier relationships and treating my liver more kindly. Cheers to you and keep it up Daniel 😄
Love how you put a bow on this with calling out the lessons learned! x
