Fun to learn you studied in Amsterdam! I studied in Utrecht for four years and lived in Amsterdam for one of those years. Amsterdam Centraal was under construction for the whole duration of my studies but I still loved commuting with the intercity train between those cities. I felt so sophisticated and cultured as a person, and it was super convenient. I miss the Netherlands a lot.
Aloha Fei-Ling! I definitely agree to your sense of feeling sophisticated and cultured while living there. I felt so cosmopolitan as well. It is such a gezellig city with its diversity and sense of possibility. The trains work wonders there, though just for fun I biked from Amsterdam to Utrecht. It was a beautiful ride!
