The survey wouldn't let me sign in for some reason. Your writing is always so positive, I'd personally love to hear more about what kind of change you want to see in the world, like what makes you mad, what problems you'd like to solve. I guess, in short, what I'd love to see you focusing on and writing about is what really matters most to you rather than something that matters to me. I enjoy witnessing the deep passion and commitment of others to anything.
Hey Rick, I’m sorry about the survey. I’ve looked into adjust the settings. Regardless I appreciate your thoughts here :)
And that is a brilliant prompt of “what change do I want to see in the world?” You’ve got me thinking more and more about this. I do want to continue to write about what matters to me, so thank you for claritying that for me! And it’s interesting to read about how you find my writing to be positive. I’ve heard this from others, and definitely, I try to see that, but many times, I feel like I am sugarcoating the reality by filtering it to land more pleasantly. But it’s also exhausting to be pleasant all the time. Perhaps an invitation to write more about what makes me mad. I appreciate you Rick, thank you!
Thanks for being so honest, Jen. I laughed out loud a few times while reading this. I genuinely enjoy your writing and get a lot out of it every week. You have a great eye for noticing things and offering interesting perspectives. Funny enough, some of your recent articles have even inspired a few of mine (but maybe that is because I’m just a Cheesecake Factory person… I’ve never been, but I do watch mukbangs and some of their food looks kind of good actually😄).
You’re definitely adding value. And at the same time, it really matters that you feel fulfilled by what you’re writing and those feelings sound like a nudge to change things up a bit. Huge congrats on being so consistent, and onto the next 300, however that will look like💛
Aww yay I'm glad you found it entertaining to read Nathalie 😊 I had to look up what a mukbang is, sounds entertaining too!
And I am glad you find my writing valuable. I don't expect the "thing" I write about to plop of out thin air immediately, I just felt the need to express this tension and yearning in case it's relatable to other writers. I think I will continue to be a Cheesecake Factory writer for some time now. It still serves me, but kind of like a Vipassana challenge a meditator, I am searching for what that Vipassana could be for my writing. What is the "next level"? My immeditate thought goes to have some more constraints or structure, but also the act of creation and expression is powerful in of itself :)
Let's keep on writing! And I am so honored to have inspired you ✨
