Your guides are so helpful! You include so many tips and resources that make them evergreen... and perfect for bookmarking!
Building community around my writing has been the most helpful thing I’ve done this year. Now I don’t write just to make sense of the world, but to connect with other people.
Thanks for the shoutout! I hope you're having a wonderful holiday with family. Kind words were said about you in your absence at the Amsterdam meetup. <3
Aww thank you Sarah! I sincerely was having fomo on Sunday. You've really cultivated such a special and safe space to connect. I look forward to rejoining in 2026 (once I find a home)
Such an insightful guide!! I’ve immediately ordered the Stephen King book :) I’ve been struggling with writing on Substack lately, and I think part of it is that it can feel quite one-way. So the tips around sharing your work with others are a great reminder. Also love: ‘to capture life before it gets forgotten’.
Anyways, are you planning to organize more accountability circles in the near future?
Wahoo way to go Nathalie! It was the best book I read this year. I'd love to have a little retro book club if you're interested.
And no shame with admitting to the struggle to show up here-- that is so real. Shouting into an echo chamber is not fun at all so maybe try bringing it to life and share a favorite line in conversation at the dinner table or out to a coffee with a friend? Our creations want attention to feel loved (and not forgotten).
As for more circles I am currently stewing one up for next week to reflect back on the year and preserve the past with an annual reflection container. This invitation will be live on my next letter, it'd be fun if you joined :-)
Aw shucks. Can’t wait! It’s a cool thang you started. Currently in Michigan I’m feeding 2 dogs, 3 cats, a few ferals and a whole bunch of blue jays, cardinals, and pidgins for my folks :)
I'm glad the tips and circles were useful to you Jolleen! I always looked forward to your presence. It felt like you brought the Nigerian sunshine each time with you 🌞

Ah thank you Melissa! That was my intention to make this something that lasts. Makes my day to hear that you see it as a valueable bookmark :)
And I totally hear you. I’m starting to feel like I enjoy creating for the mere sake of creation and connecting for the mere sake of connection too!

Great idea, I am definitely interested in a retro book club. And looking forward to the next circle/finding out what your next brew is :-)
Come back soon. You’ve always got good ideas and stories. I miss guessing what animal you’ve looked after in the week.

I love the tips! Especially as someone who is still new-ish to writing. Thanks for organizing the weekly sessions. Those really helped me write more.
